It is worth knowing that the education of animal trainers & behaviourist is not yet governed by any legally binding requirements in South Africa, so anybody can call themselves a behaviourist without necessarily having studied or acquired any theoretical or practical knowledge or experience before working with clients.

In addition unfortunately there are still people in this sector that use outdated, extremely harsh methods that can cause your animal a lot of pain, might not teach him anything other than that people are bad news, might lead to serious behavioural problems and might permanently damage your relationship with your pet.
